Over Hilda
Ik ben gespecialiseerd in het maken van veelkleurige linosnedes die ik meestal in een kleine oplage maak. Ik werk het liefst in vrolijke, warme kleuren, met accenten van zwarte lijnen. Meestal maak ik een hele serie rond een bepaald thema in allerlei formaten.
Wat mij aantrekt in het maken van linosnedes is het ambachtelijke en bijna meditatieve snijden en gutsen van de plaat. En verder vind ik het een feest om mijn eigen kleuren te mengen zoals ik die in mijn hoofd heb zitten. Het optillen van de prent na elke drukgang is voor mij altijd weer een bijzonder spannend avontuur!
De thema’s die ik kies hebben bijna altijd te maken met hoe ik in het leven sta, optimistisch en opgewekt: Alegria’! Vrolijk en blij, met vaak een onderliggende, meer diepgaande twist.
Verder maak ik ook bronzen beelden, die vaak ook aansluiten bij het thema van mijn prenten.
En tenslotte maak ik ook af en toe (grote) schilderijen in olieverf op doek. Deze staan qua onderwerp los van het actuele werkthema.
Ik heb talloze exposities in binnen- en buitenland gehad. Mijn werk is zowel voor privé- als voor bedrijfscollecties aangekocht.
About Hilda
I specialize in making multicoloured linocuts that I usually make in a limited edition. I prefer to work in cheerful and warm colours with accents of black lines. Usually I make a whole series around a particular theme in all kinds of sizes.
What attracts me in making linocuts is the artisanal and almost meditative cutting and gouging of the plate. And I also enjoy very much to mix my own colours the way I have them in my head. Lifting the print after every imprint is a very exciting adventure for me each time!
The themes I choose almost always have to do with how I stand in life, optimistic and cheerful: ‘Alegria’! Cheerful and happy, with often an underlying, more profound twist.
I also make bronze sculptures, which often also fit the theme of my prints.
And finally, I also make (large) paintings in oil paint on canvas occasionally. These are independent of the current work theme in terms of the subject.
I have had numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. My work has been purchased for both private and company collections.
